Incheon Airport started handing out a lanyard printed with sunflowers on September 14. Getting one takes nothing but asking for it — no doctor's note, no disability card, no explanation to a stranger at a counter. Incheon International Airport Corporation said it began the "Incheon Airport Sunflower Project" on the 14th , with the announcement itself following a day later, on September 15. The lanyard covers what the announcement calls non-visible disabilities. Autism spectrum, developmental disabilities, chronic illness, conditions that don't show on the outside. Wear it, and airport staff are supposed to notice and check in without a traveler having to spell out what's wrong, per the September 15 rollout. The global scheme itself names a shorter bar than Korean coverage of Incheon does.
